Bounce Back

Following all difficult periods of life, from breakups to failed business ventures or unexpected lay offs, there comes a moment where you decide you are done feeling sad and ready to start your life again. These times can seem daunting when you feel you are literally starting from ground zero and nothing is certain. But often times, that is where the magic begins; in the unknown. Outside of your comfort zone where you have never been before. Here are some simple tips that can catapult you into your new life chapter.

  • Embrace the misery
Feel the feelings. Give yourself time to process the changes and challenges in your life. This can take a few minutes or a few weeks but is a crucial step to give yourself grace to ugly cry, order out and stay in your pajamas all day. Let go of any guilt and feel your feelings.

  • Operate from a place of hope
There will come a time where you get sick of feeling sorry for yourself. Us humans cant stay inactive for too long - its just not in our nature as alluring as it is at first. Once you have finished sleeping it off and binging that show or feel your bodies cues for life, give yourself the opportunity to get excited for whatever happens next. Operate from a hopeful and optimistic mindset. You will figure it all out.

  • Take a simple action in self care

    • A shower can be so therapeutic and the perfect way to reconnect to yourself in times of grief or disappointment. Visualize the water washing away any insecurities, doubts and self-limiting beliefs.

    • A walk can also be highly beneficial. Getting your body moving can increase endorphins while you soak in some fresh air.

    • Make youreself a homemade meal. It can be as simple as a sandwich or an omelette but making something for yourself sends a message to your brain and body that you got you.
